Our mission at the Portage Resale Shop is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and welcome the stranger. Answering the call of our Lord Jesus Christ, this thrift store in Portage, Indiana, has been established to support ministries of compassion within our community. Portage Resale Shop is a locally-founded, self-funded, volunteer-based 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and welcoming the stranger. As one of the leading resale shops in Portage, Indiana, we are a Christ-centered organization that relies on Biblical principles for guidance and direction. Our mission is to provide free or low-cost clothing, household items, and other necessities to individuals in need, while also offering monetary support to other organizations that align with our mission. Our Impact

Over the years, our Portage resale shop has positively impacted the lives of thousands of families in Northwest Indiana by providing low-cost clothing, household items, and other essentials. We have fulfilled referrals from over 90 different agencies, offering free clothing and items to individuals experiencing or transitioning from homelessness or other challenging situations. Our efforts have led to the distribution of over 40,000 free coats, averaging more than 2,000 each year. Additionally, we have given away more than $500,000 in monetary or in-kind donations to other local organizations that complement our mission. Furthermore, we donated land valued at around $500,000 for Prominence Commons, a 48-unit housing complex designed for low-income families. As one of the leading resale shops in Portage, Indiana, we are proud to serve our community with compassion and dedication.
